Ronald Cyril Arthur
Loving Father, grandfather sadly missed by everyone that knew him. Always had a smile for everyone, loved by all.
After leaving school at fourteen Ron started work as an apprentice Bookbinder. He was called up in February 1943 and joined the 2nd Battalion of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment. Ron fought at the fourth battle of Monte Casino and along the Gothic line. In November 1944 his division transferred to Greece where he stayed until the end of hostilities. After returning home, Ron resumed his career in Bookbinding and life in South London.
A lovely chap to talk to always ready with an entertaining story of his exploits during the war.
