Essie Harris
Mum was an avid fan of the poppy appeal, would always give generously and frequently drove around with a very large poppy attached to her car, she even named her last house in Hampshire 'Poppies'.
Mum would proudly tell anyone who would listen that her father worked at the RBL Poppy Factory in Richmond after being disabled out of the war and we have wonderful memories of the day when we took mum and her sister on a tour of the Poppy Factory, which still stands proudly on Richmond Hill.
