Fundraising Tips

There are lots of ways to raise funds in memory of your loved one. Family and friends might well have some great fundraising ideas, but in the meantime, here are a few suggestions to help you get started…

Share your Tribute Fund

The easiest way to start: pop a link to your page on Facebook or Twitter, or send an email, to let families and friends know that they can make a donation. You might also want to invite them to share the link as well, so that more people see it.

Funeral tributes

When you share your In Memory page, pass on information about the funeral arrangements. You could then invite loved ones to make a donation to the Legion instead of buying flowers.

Organise your own fundraising event

Bring people together to remember the life of someone special. Why not organise a pub quiz about some of their favourite subjects, or perhaps arrange a meal or party, where guests can share stories and memories of your loved one? Alternatively, you could hold a bake sale at your office or for friends and family, or host a car washing day locally. Here's a few more ideas to help you get started.

Remember, you can link to fundraising events on your In Memory page and invite people to leave personal messages and tributes for others to see.

Special occasions and anniversaries

Once created, your In Memory page will stay open as long as you want it to. Family and friends will be able to remember your loved one each year by sending donations on special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries.

How your Tribute Fund helps the Legion

All the money raised via your Tribute Fund and any events associated with it, will be put towards our work providing lifelong support to the Armed Forces community - serving men and women, veterans, and their families.
