Kathleen Grace Ellis – born in Birmingham on Saturday 15th June 1918 and passed from us on Sunday 9th January 2022. At 103 years of age, she was quite simply marvellous and she meant the world to us. We are so grateful for all the wonderful time we had together.

The Royal British Legion was so important to “Gran”, as everyone knew her.

Throughout her life she never forgot their kindness to her family and her Dad, Frederick James Ellis who she loved so much. Serving in the Great War for more than three years, he was seriously injured with a head wound which sent him home and changed his life forever.

Gran never stinted in her admiration and respect for our armed forces. She knew the huge debt of gratitude we owe them.

Now she is gone from us we will remember this too. She would absolutely love that we are supporting the poppy appeal in her memory.
