The Dennis Roberts My Remembrance Day Fund

I pay tribute to my grandfather, who died aged 24 in a fierce and bloody tank battle (called Operation Aintree) in the woods surrounding the town of Overloon in Holland. His regiment was at Dunkirk in 1940 and they were one of the first assault troops to land on Sword beach on D Day. He survived all this only to die months before the war ended.
My Great grandmother said he was a wonderful singer and often entertained the troops along side people like Tony Hancock at variety shows to raise funds.
I talk to my children about him and i often think about what his life would have been like...

    A sponsored event is a great way to raise money for a Never Forget Fund. And creating a Sub Fund could make organising the event and your supporters so much easier. Whether you want to organise a coffee morning or a trek across the Himalayas, your Sub Fund page can advertise your event to friends and family wherever they are. They can support your event by donating online through your page and the total raised by your event will be added to the main Never Forget Fund you've chosen to support.

  • For a special occasion

    If there's a special day coming up, you could mark it by helping to raise money in your loved one's memory. A Sub Fund page is the ideal way to tell friends and family about the occasion – you can upload pictures and messages about the anniversary. Friends and family will be able to donate to your Sub Fund through the page and the total raised by your event will be added to the main Never Forget Fund you've chosen to support.
